Waste management and pollution

What does it mean “Waste management”? I ask it to wikipedia and this is the answer:
“Waste management is the collection, transport, processing, recycling or disposal of waste materials, usually ones produced by human activity, in an effort to reduce their effect on human health or local aesthetics or amenity. A subfocus in recent decades has been to reduce waste materials’ effect on the natural world and the environment and to recover resources from them.”
But that’s enough? May be if you’re playing in a pursuit match. In the reality waste management is a daily pratics. For us that we have to buy sustainable products without packaging, for companies that they have to maximize the value of their waste, reducing them and collecting scraps. The second step – for all sustainable activities – is to trade waste using waste exchange.
Recycling waste is one of the mostimportant reply to the oil higher price. Anyway to reduce pollution we must choice sustainable and eco solidal products, stop use oil engine, ask for fuell cell engines and for clean energy.
